2400° F was so cool

It was 16 hours in a hot studio, sticking a steel rod into a furnace with hot, molten glass then blowing my lungs out to get these baby sized glasses and my first solid piece of glass art. And, it was amazing. While I've always loved virtually all art forms from fine art to photography, glass was a goal for me. I was surprised at how physical the art form is. On my feet for hours walking back and forth to the Glory Hole, heating glass, forming it, reblowing, shaping, blowing, jacking, all to create something unique and one of a kind. Glass is like no other material. It's liquid, then cools and solifies quickly. More quickly than I ever anticipated, yet it retains 1000 degrees of heat and would fry your skin in a millisecond. My first day taking class I got a heat burn on my arm from the furnace, a very intimidating piece of equipment. But, I'm now inspired to continue on my glass path. So, come January, look for more pieces.
