Savannah state of mind

Moss hanging from trees. Bicycles tipped over. Coffee shops and quaint eateries. Lovely green garden squares every other block. Colorful plantation style row houses. And, then out of the blue, a strangely funny New York City vibe strikes me. This is Savannah. Historic in so many ways, yet very vibrant and contemporary with a wonderful arts and architecture culture. Incredibly restored buildings that maintain their historic facades and character, lovely galleries and student artwork. It is a city that strikes me as a worthy muse. I'd been to Savannah once before about four years ago. It was for a quickie weekend getaway with my parents. We did quirky tourist things, ate at the Pirate house, rode in a hearse for a ghost tour, stayed in a haunted hotel. This time, it was more of a focus on art and design. I loved it. And, a quick jaunt to the beach on a crisp and slightly drizzly morning.
